Fædr o’Woruld: The Saga #

The Premise #

A group of young magi, having “disconnected” with their parens for various reasons, forge their own covenant.

The Story So Far #

The fledging magi Alaz, Ismail, Laveur, Meno, Xander & Arnulf are all left without covenant for one reason or another. For some this is due to their parens being isolated or unbound, for others it involved violent disaster between themselves and their parens or covenant. The young magi made their way to the eastern France.

Session 1 #

Here they laid claim to a decades abandoned manor with a startilingly potent arcane aura. Investigation lead to the uncovery of four artifacts:

  • A large painting acting as gateway to a frozen wasteland
  • A statue, now broken, of unknown effects
  • A book, now sealed, through which strange creatures have emerged
  • An entity or object invisible to the naked eye, locked within a glass case
Through liberal use of terram magics the group raised a temporary tower and aquired sufficient gold to fund the redevelopment of the manor through the exorbitant fees to one merchant Morbius. It is also worth noting that this exchange required the bending of the oath "Nor will I interfere with the affairs of mundanes" as the local economies quickly degraded. This low-crime has not yet been penalised but the magi are known to work on greater timescales.

Session 2 #

Upon returning, the magi dueled in certamen for the position of head in the covenant Pervigeo. Alaz and Xander made a triumphant effort but alas Ismail, with alarming ease, defeated all opposition. With the structures and laboratories well underway, all that was left was vis: the arcane catalysts necessary for magical studies. To this end Ismail and Alaz quested out to a nearby island home to a hedge mage, unprotected by hermetic law, which they intend to rob.

Session 3 #

Meno quested into the painting in search of answers but fae ‘dancing plague’ infected him, paralysing his body in its entirety. Unfortunately as a Veritus mage, his spontaneous magic was too weak to allow any form of communication. He now awaits healing when the covenat aquires sufficient skill and vis for a healing ritual.

Session 4 #

Alaz returns from the island to spot a raging forest fire, wrought by a hungry salamander. After narrowly avoiding its attack he reaches the covenant and develops basic defences against the creature: a moat and a ring of fire protection. He covenes with Xander before organising a plan to drive it out of the woods towards the sea cliffs by using his comanion Miguel as bait. The plan succeeds but it became apparent that the salamander was protecting its young. Alaz took the creature to his lab.

Xander takes leave for his yearly pilgrimage through North Zealand but mere 7 leagues east he stumbles upon a massacre. A nearby explosion has killed dozens and set a church aflame. The divine aura persists strongly enough to prevent Xander’s magic, forcing him to flee as powerful daemons in human skin enter, searching for something. Xander makes for the edge of the holy aura but one of the creatures reaches him just before he can cast, tunneling into his mind just as he flashes back to the tower.
He battles the creature in a state of unconciousness for what seems like days until awoken by a servant, allowing him to temporarily banish the creature.

20/12/1220: Trip to cherbourg to commission laboratory equipment (session 2 start)
29/12/1220: Vis hunting with Lauver & Ismail on Écréhous. Stealing corpus vis
1/1/1221: Meno is paralysed after entering the snow canvas 
5/1/1221: Basic Manor repairs complete
